Was there a GE recently?
Had quite an interesting conversation with K this morn... hmm.. quite a large coverage of things bah...
life.. econs.. ge (haha.. a bit late hor... haha... well)
Sort of forgot about the recent GE, which didn' feel that recent actually. Hmm.. maybe there wasn't much, or somehow, it just didn't seem like it was that recent. I guess, in someway, that's how rather insignificant it is bah. In some countries, people would say, "alright, the election is now over, its time for us to get down to work." Here, I guess there wasn't much of a change bah.. at least to the person on the street, or to anyone who isn't directly involved in the election process. I mean, a couple of a things, but ermm.. really not much...
1) No posters and flags
2) No knocking on doors to shake hands and give leaflets
3) No giving speeches
4) No newspaper headlines about how some individual is no good
5) No talking about how the absence of lifts on every floor will be the end of the world
hmm.. what else... seriously, I have problems trying to think of what could have been different apart from these...
Maybe too much difference would not be good for the country, for it might just rock the foundations that our fore-fathers have built over the years, and not forgetting that investors that might become worried about investing in Singapore.
sigh... an election with barely any national issues.. i mean.. ok lor... i guess there must be some very good reason why almost nothing was said.. so ok lor... who could blame me for forgetting it even took place... haha...
