I must admit, that I agree with XM, that The Straits Times, does offer some quite interesting stuff.
Apart from bringing up blogsites of late, it was quite interesting to learn about the Prac Asterix. I do greatly enjoy the Asterix comic series... hmm... another incentive to visit Paris... other than Versailles
But before that, I came across an article on British home policy. Well, Blair and Blunkett may be serious about labelling people are socially-excluded or being anti-social, but clearly targetting kids is just way too crazy.

'Catch potential criminals in nursery'
LONDON - A BRITISH government report has recommended that children should be targeted as potential criminals from the age of three.
The Sunday Times quoted a confidential Home Office report as saying these would-be criminals could be singled out by their bullying behaviour in nursery school or by a history of criminality in their immediate family. It proposes parenting classes and, in the worst cases, putting more children who are not 'under control' into intensive foster care.
The report was drawn up for Prime Minister Tony Blair who wanted to identify ways of cutting crime.

People use to say, that you could afford to make mistakes when you are young, but most importantly, you must learn from them. And clearly, as the Chinese saying goes, 失败是成功之母, kids learn from mistakes that they make, and maybe someone should start teaching Blair some chinese. It would be ridiculous to label a kid as a potential criminal... will they next be looking for potential white colloar fraudsters from young too? Kids grow up, kids change, and I think that it is important that while kids are not granted equal right and access as adults do, this is due to the fact that we recognise the kids are different, and they need protection and they need time to understand and make sense of their actions and their lives. It would be absurd to simply label from someone from young. That is nearly tantamount to labelling babies at brith!
